This princess and her little sister had imprudently mocked an ugly sea witch who in revenge had turned the princess into a pretty sealgirl and her sister in a cute sealbaby.
Sometimes after this transformation, even if they could still think and talk, the two sisters had begun to feel themselves more and more like simple animals and so one day had gone to live with a group of friendly seals.
Later on when they were at last quite happy to behave like seals and of their wild marine life the sea witch, unsatisfied with what was clearly no more a punition, restored them to their former human form.
